Trust Bollywood's primary snooper Ram Gopal Varma to hit upon the brainwave of turning Susairaj's ghoulish crime of passion into a film called-choke your breath-A Love Story. The film which goes on the floors from 10th April will chronicle every ghoulish detail of the crime. Speaking on what fascinated him about Susairaj's case, Ram Gopal Varma says, "I've been to the highrise in Malad where this bizarre stomach-churning crime happened. It is inhabited by normal people going through their normal routine. How could such a ghastly crime happen in a small corner of this seemingly normal residential complex?" Varma will go through all the complexities of the case. "I've met people who knew Susairaj and Emile Jerome Matthew (the man who allegedly helped her murder Neeraj Grover). They seemed so normal." Though there were doubts around whether this unusual title would stay for the film, the makers are convinced that Singham is best suited for the genre that it belongs to and the subject that it boasts of. "How many understood what Dabangg really meant when the film was announced", counter questions a senior crew member of Singham, "In fact hardly any people, in fact even those belonging to the North belt of India had never heard of the word. People didn't have any clue whatsoever even for Ghajini. And to think of it, it was the not even the name of the hero in the film; it belonged to the villain. Those were unusual titles but the hype around Dabangg as well as Ghajini was such that the titles stuck. It's the overall package that matters." This is the reason why makers of Singham are not even contemplating changing the title of this Ajay Devgn starrer. Since the film is a remake of a Tamil film by the same name which had released last year, there was a popular belief that Singham was just the working title and as the film would come close to release; a new title would be identified. "Nothing doing, Singham is the final title", confirms Rohit Shetty, "We all are mighty excited and convinced about the title. And what do you feel is peculiar about the title? It's a Sanskrit word which stands for lion. I am sure everyone is familiar with that." Still, doesn't Rohit feel that something conventional would have bettered the prospects of his action flick? "Well, if it was conventional, you wouldn't have called me to check, right? The very fact that you are talking to me means that the title intrigued you. One being told that this was the price he must be willing to pay for his celebrity status, Akshay mellows down a little. "Please do not find me rude if I don't really want to discuss my salary with anyone. Have you forgotten the golden rule", Akshay reminds, "This principle goes for all my work. Trust me when I say this that I do not discuss my financials even with my mother, wife or my sister - the three people who are closest to me. Reason being that it neither matters nor makes a difference to anyone other than my producer and myself.
